WHEN OPEN, YOU WILL FIND INSTRUCTIONS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE

Our passion in publishing is rooted in upmarket young adult, new adult, and adult novels that give reverence to classic literary elements such as motifs, symbolism, alliteration, and foreshadowing.

We are looking for writers who pay special attention to line level details that turn a story from a mere bit of entertainment into an all encompassing experience.

What are we looking for in a manuscript?

Examples of EXTRA details we love:

- Symmetry between your beginning and ending, as George Lucas said, “It’s like poetry. They rhyme.”

- Symbolic character names that honor the classics the way Katniss Everdeen is named after Bathsheba Everdeen of Far From the Madding Crowd.

- Subversion of a beloved trope. For instance, a “who did this to you?” moment re-imagined as a comedy beat instead of a dramatic one.

- Intentional and subtle use of proper/improper nouns to delineate a characters internal motivations on the page.

- Lastly, we always love a contemporary reference cleverly placed in an anachronistic setting!
